National Batik Day – 2 October

October 2th has been declared as National Batik Day in Indonesia. UNESCO officialy recognized Indonesian batik as world cultural heritage. Indonesian Batik has various pattern, various color and various producers that made batik in various area, such as : Yogyakarta, Solo, Garut, Pekalongan, Cirebon, etc.

Ludina Handmade currently using batik garut for the material. Garut Batik is well known with naturalist motifs featuring flora and fauna. Garut Batik is also well known with its unique color “Gumading”, a ripe fruit color which turns to be yellowish. Garut Batik is also called Garutan.
